I'm with what Nicole said above-- weight loss begins with what you're eating. For me personally, I started with small changes that were manageable to me. I stopped drinking my calories (and that adds up so quickly!). Instead of pretzels and hummus, I switched to carrots. Instead of eating shit after dinner, I "closed the kitchen" or picked a healthy dessert. My self control is weak-sauce, so I straight up don't buy unhealthy things at the grocery store. I don't let myself buy Nutella or pita chips or cheese cubes, because I already KNOW I have no control over these things. If you say no in the grocery store, you only have to say no once. If you bring it home, you have to say no every time you're in the kitchen.

As the tough love saying goes, "If YOU want to change, YOU have to make changes." It's sucky! You will feel deprived at first! You will be pissed about no longer eating Jimmy Johns whenever you want to (at least... I was). But it's COMPLETELY worth it to see the scale moving in the right direction. Honestly, if I knew how good I'd feel at 60lbs lighter, I would've started getting healthy a LONG time ago.

I'm 100000% rooting for you woman and know you can do this! I'm here if you ever need any help/advice/venting :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12580678517972772091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758783482927648266.post-75234626986498073112013-10-02T20:08:15.780-05:002013-10-02T20:08:15.780-05:00Sorry about the gain :( Honestly, changing your di...Sorry about the gain :( Honestly, changing your diet is the first and most important thing you can do. An Arbonne consultant told me that 90% of how we look has to do with what we eat. About 5% is genetics and about 5% is fitness. I'm sure that's a little dramatic, but from trainers and fitness gurus as well, they agree that what you eat is hands down the most significant thing you can do for your body, skin, hair, etc. I struggle with it every day, but I don't doubt that the reason I maintain my weight even when i go for long periods of time of not working out, is because I'm generally decent with what I eat. It may not be low-fat or low-carb, but I definitely try to eat whole foods, real foods, real drinks (no soda if at all possible and when I do cave I stick to SPRITE, not dark soda!), etc. etc.

As for how to get started with a life change...I don't know haha. I think some people are really good at it and some people it just takes coming to a point where they're completely fed up and unhappy with themselves. That's probably why I haven't fully committed to living a healthy lifestyle that includes fitness every day...because I'm not totally unhappy with myself. I'm sure that makes no sense, but basically, it's all in your head. And you can push through and make the changes, I'm sure!!!

I'll definitely keep coming back here :) Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18288729625520648801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758783482927648266.post-39491515186476462572013-10-02T14:58:47.138-05:002013-10-02T14:58:47.138-05:00Girlfriend, I know those numbers can get you down....Girlfriend, I know those numbers can get you down. But don't you let that silly little number on the scale bother you! Embrace this great day you were having! When I started, I basically...Sorry about the gain. When I started, I basically tried to keep it real. I knew that I could easily commit to doing 30 minutes of something at least 4 times a week and I made a promise to myself that I would not go more than 2 days without doing SOMETHING fitness-y related. Then I started making other changes, adding more time in workouts, cutting out all sodas, etc and then the scale finally started moving with regularity. You can do this!Rebooting Myselfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11117342048689133649noreply@blogger.com
