Just Lettin' the Night Roll

Last week the lovely Allie and Jen brought back the Pit & Peak link up. I had plans to participate buuut I didn't. I couldn't miss out two weeks in a row though so here I am!

Pits
- My windshield cracked earlier this week. I had to say good bye to more of my hard earned money.
- I've been super lazy all week.
Because of said laziness:
- I have not worked out.
- I have not blogged or read many blogs, let alone comment on any.
- I have been eating like crap because I don't have anything planned. {Hello vending machine lunches.}

Peaks
- My windshield was replaced on Thursday. No more staring at the crack while I drive waiting for it to get bigger!
- It's Friday! Finally Friday! You have no idea how happy I am.
- I managed to lose some pounds. A loss on the scale always makes me happy.
- One of the five books I put on hold from the library became available.

Ending on a good note I'm off to finish getting ready for this one last day of work.

But real quick before I go...

Because I feel like an over achiever right now I'll also link up with Whitney for #backthatazzup Friday!

Every day to and from work I listen to Justin Moore's latest album, Off the Beaten Path. Absolutely love love love this song and this man!

Pit & Peak - Spring is Here!

**I wrote this post Friday at work and then ended up not making it home until 1am which lead to not being posted until now (Sunday).  So imagine it's still Friday when you're reading this!**
TGIF people!  Every week I am so happy when Friday rolls around simply because it means I only have to get through 8 more hours of work until I have two whole days off to do whatever I want.
I’m linking up with Brin and Allie for Pit & Peak so buckle up and let’s get going.
Pit(s)
My work friend Ashley was offered a job closer to home last weekend and Tuesday she put in her two week notice.  I’ve only worked with her since December but we’ve become friends and she helps me  make it through the work day.  While I’m sad to see her go I know that it’s the best decision for her.
While I’m feeling better than last week when I Was An Emotional Hot Mess I’m still not 100% because I’ve been doing some things I know aren’t the best for me on my weight loss plan.
It snowed the morning of April 25th.  Can you imagine, it’s almost May and Wisconsin is still getting winter weather?!  It sucks!
Peak(s)
Spring has finally decided to show its face around here!  Just a day after receiving 2 inches of snow we’re supposed to be reaching a high in the 60’s {ended up being in the low 70's!!} and it’s supposed to be even better in the upcoming days!
I rocked a dress to work!  Normally I don’t choose to wear a dress just because.  But after last summer when I would roast my ass off while Chelsea was cool as a cucumber {okay that’s an exaggeration but she was still cooler than me} I decided to take her advice and look at dresses for the summer.  Old Navy pulled through for me the other weekend and I found one that I liked.  Definitely sad I didn’t rock dresses before this!
I was contacted to do my first product review.  I am pretty pumped about it and cannot wait to get the product and then review it for all of you to read!
Fish Fry Friday happened.  Love me a good fish fry.
Hope you all had a great week that was filled with more peaks than pits!

{I know I didn't vlog my Pits & Peaks but I couldn't find the HTML code for the regular one.  Sorry!}

Pit & Peak

Hallelujah It’s Friday!  I know I say this every week but it seems like it took forever for Friday to get here.
I’m linking up with Allie and Brin for Pit & Peak.  So here we go!

Work is still slow which leads to staring at the clock and watching the day drag by.
I saw a pretty significant gain on the scale.  Knew it would happen but it still put me down in the dumps Wednesday.
Two of my friends from high school (a boy and a girl who are a couple) had a house fire this week and lost their two dogs in it.  It breaks my heart to think of what my friends are going through; not only did they have a house fire but they lost their pets so they truly have nothing (or not much) left but each other.
My DVR freaked out and wasn’t going to record some new shows this week even though the series is clearly set up to record all new episodes.  Nashville was one of them.  Luckily I caught it and was able to manually click record on the new episode so it ended up being recorded.  Hopefully I didn’t miss any new episodes of my shows!  With shows being on weird breaks from new episodes it’s hard to tell if I’m missing any or not.  Clearly I rely on my DVR too much.
Peaks
Conversations with Chelsea that prove distance doesn’t matter.  We were meant to be best friends and we will be for a long time regardless of where she lives.
Kicking my cold to curb!
Getting my very first button swapper!  Thank you Jenn for being the first!
I finished HP #2 over the weekend and am cruising right through HP #3.  Yup I listed this as a peak.  Why?  Well, since I had to give up reading at work I haven’t had or taken as much time to read so I was happy to take some time to sit down with a good book and lose myself in it for a while.
What’s one of your peaks of the week?

Pit & Peak

Friday, it has certainly been too long since I saw you last!  It feels like it has been much longer than a week, let me tell you.  My readers are actually already sick of hearing how long this week has dragged on since I've been talking about it in every post.  But you're finally here and that's the important thing, right?

In addition to bringing me a new episode of Nikita to watch tonight you also bring the wonderfully awesome Pit & Peak link up with Allie and Brin.

I'm going to start off with the Pits because I want to end on a good note since it's Friday and all.

This week dragged by!  You probably knew that one was coming since I was bitching about it in every post I did this week.  It's true though.  I work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and every single one of them felt like they were the longest days of my life.

There's a reason why my work days dragged by this week though.  It was the first full week I went without being able to read a book when there was down time.  When you can't read a book and you aren't supposed to be on your phone (I am but secret agent style) there isn't much else to do at work when there is no work but look at the clock.  Last week we had some big wigs in taking a look at what we do and since they were in we haven't been allowed to have books or cell phones out.  Why?  Because we're overstaffed currently and apparently it makes it look worse that we're doing non-work related things while we're there.  I get that, I do, but is me sitting there staring a screen with no work to do any better?  At least I'm quietly reading to myself and not chatting it up all day, in my opinion.

Now, on to the good stuff!  Let's talk about the Peaks of my week.

The scale has been my friend the last two weeks.  I lost another 2.4 pounds on Wednesday without doing a damn thing.  Not going to lie, it made me smile and put me in a good mood for Wednesday.

One of my favorite shows Nashville came back after taking a couple of weeks off from new episodes.  This is only its first season but I hope it's around for a while.  I mentioned in Wednesday's post how I record it just so I can fast forward through the commercials because I don't have time to wait 3 minutes to find out what's going to happen next.  If the show was longer than an hour I would love it.  Even better would be if there wasn't a week in between episodes.  Seriously, I love the show.

I guess I only had two pits and two peaks this week.  Not much else I want to complain or get excited about so I'll leave it at that.  I hope everyone else had a great week!

Pit & Peak #6

Hello Friday!!  I am incredibly excited to see you!  Not only is it almost the weekend but it means it is time for Pit & Peak.

Let's get right to things shall we?

Pit(s)

~ I have been eating extremely poorly this week.  Tuesday I stuffed my face with Subway and two bottles of Mountain Dew.  Yesterday I had a muffin and hot chocolate for breakfast which was like 500 calories.  And the vending machine has been calling my name yesterday and today.  I haven't noticed a change in how I feel physically but mentally I'm pretty disgusted with myself. I'm looking forward to the weekend to reset and help me start fresh next week.

~ I gained weight.  Like almost 3 pounds in a week.  Sure I probably didn't consume that many extra calories in a week but how depressing is it to see almost 3 pounds on the scale that weren't there the week before?

Peak(s)

~ I went to the gym Thursday!  I felt great all day after that.  Pretty awesome that going to the gym, even just once, can have that affect!

~ I have a 3 day weekend to look forward to.  Working for a company that works with banks has its perks.  I'm taking a floating holiday (pretty much PTO) on Monday because it's a federal holiday so not a lot of work will be there for us.  I'm going to get paid to sit at home, do some work around the house, and blog.  How cool is that?!

Talk to me...

What is one of your peaks for the week?
